Už piata generácia Gigabit Smart prepínačov D-Link radu DGS-1210 (v predaji od roku 2018) ponúka výkonnejší hardvér, väčšiu flexibilitu portov a viac funkcií. Model DGS-1210-52 (HW revízia F1) je 52-portový L2 / L3 Gigabit Ethernet Smart + Managed switch bez vetrákov, vhodný pre SMB a prístupové Enterprise siete. Je osadený 48 porty 10/100 / 1000Base-T RJ-45 a 4x Gigabit Combo porty RJ-45 / SFP, kde SFP sloty sú dvojrýchlostný a podporujú Gigabit SFP aj Fast Ethernet SFP moduly.
Switch DGS-1210-52 ponúka podporu IPv6 a pokročilú sadu L2 funkcií, ako sú virtuálne siete VLAN, funkcia kvality služieb QoS, LACP agregácie liniek, IGMP Snooping pre prevádzku multicast videa, bezpečnostné funkcie 802.1x Radius a ACL, Spanning Tree protokoly STP / RSTP pre kruhové topológie a MSTP pre riadenie slučiek samostatne v každej VLAN. Podporovaný je tiež L3 statický IPv4 / IPv6 routing, ktorý je určený pre smerovanie medzi VLAN sieťami a dovoľuje nastaviť štyri IP rozhranie. Kapacita routovacie tabuľky je 124 IPv4 resp. 50 IPv6 záznamov.

Funkcia Voice VLAN detekuje pripojenie IP telefónov a priraďuje ich automaticky do samostatnej VLAN s vyššou prioritou. Novinkou je unikátny Surveillance mód, ktorý pomocou MAC adries, LLDP a ONVIF protokolov dokáže detekovať prvky IP kamerových systémov (IP kamery, NVR) od rôznych výrobcov a automaticky ich priradiť do oddelenej video-VLAN s vyššou prioritou. Prepínač zobrazí topológiu siete tiež priamo vo webovom rozhraní prepínača. Výrazne sa tak zjednodušuje a urýchľuje nasadenie a správa firemnej siete a IP kamerových systémov.

Správa prepínača je z intuitívneho webového rozhrania alebo pomocou SNMP príkazov. Kompaktná sada Telnet CLI príkazov umožňuje základné nastavenie prepínača (nastavenie IP adresy, heslá, reset, reboot, ping, upgrade FW, nahranie / zálohovanie konfigurácie, show, debug). Podpora Dual Image a Dual Configuration umožňuje nahranie dvoch firmwarov alebo konfiguračných súborov do prepínača. Upgrade firmvéru alebo zmenu v nastavení siete nie je nutné vykonať okamžite, ale možno ju odložiť.

K dispozícii je tiež bezplatný softvérový nástroj D-Link Network Assistant (DNA), ktorý ponúka základné správu a dohľad nad viac prepínačmi v sieti. Nástroj DNA prehľadá sieť a nájde prepínač aj v prípade, kedy jeho IP adresa (napr. Defaultný IP adresa) nie je v rovnakom L2 segmente. Následne možno vykonať základné nastavenia, rozdelenie prepínačov do pracovných skupín a hromadnú správu, upgrade či zálohu. V rozsiahlych podnikových sieťach je možné spravovať prepínača centrálne pomocou pokročilých NMP plaformy D-View 7 (zadarmo pre 25 zariadení, viac info a online demo na )
